Phone Calls or Other Repeated Communication with the Intent to Annoy or Alarm
  • If you speak to the caller, tell him/her not to call again and hang up.  Do not try to engage them in conversation. 
  • Dial *57 immediately after a phone call to activate "Call Trace".  This marks the last call received so it must be done immediately after the harassing call.
  • Keep messages left on answering machines and voice mail, the Police Department will make a copy of the messages.
  • Keep a log of all harassing calls, including the date and time and any conversation.  If you have Caller-ID, also list the phone number.
  • Complete a written statement as to the facts of the case.
