LEAD is taught by the GPD SRO at Greenland Central School
SRO Nick Drew
SRO Drew teaches LEAD to students in several different grades each year.

LEAD (Law Enforcement Against Drugs & Violence) is a nationally recognized education course aimed to

  1. Connect students with a police officer in order to encourage positive relationships,
  2. Teach students about the dangers of drug use and abuse,
  3. Provide students with positive ways to deal with risky behavior,
  4. Allow students the opportunity to learn facts about drugs.

SRO Drew started teaching LEAD many years ago when he worked for the Newmarket Police Department. Prior to SRO Drew, Sgt Bertogli taught DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) in the school since 2015.
