Winter Parking Ban from November 1 to April 30

Please be aware that although it feels like Spring, there is still the possibility of snow. The Winter Parking Ban falls under Town Ordinance 13-02 (Section 4.0) and remains in effect through the end of April. The ordinance states the following:

Section 4.0 Night Parking and Snow Removal

a) No person having the custody, control or ownership of any vehicle shall park a vehicle on any roadway, street, properties plowed by the Town or anyplace where snow removal would be hindered, between the hours of 12:00 am and 06:00 am from November 1st through April 30th.

b) Any person who violates the provisions of Section 4.0 (a) of this Ordinance shall be guilty of a violation and upon conviction may be fined fifty dollars ($50.00).

c) The Chief of Police, or any Police Officer of the Greenland Police Department, may cause any vehicle parked in violation of Section 4.0 (a) of this Ordinance to be removed from the street, roadway, Town plowed property or any place where snow removal would be hindered. It will be at the Police Officer’s discretion if a monetary fine be issued to the person in charge or in custody of the parked vehicle, as indicated in Section 4.0 (b).
