School Safety & Winter Weather

As winter turns to Spring, research has shown that drivers are more likely to speed. Please be cognizant that school is still in session!  While buses are equipped with many safety features, the most dangerous time for kids is when they are entering and exiting the bus. Take a few extra seconds when traveling near a bus to make sure that all children have had the opportunity to clear the road. Be mindful of reduced speed limits near schools which are in effect for 45 minutes before school starts and 45 minutes after school ends. Additionally, crosswalks near schools can be busy even when school is NOT in session, so be extra vigilant when traveling in the area of a school regardless of the time. Safety first!!
